At Pentecost the Gospel was preached in Jerusalem to people “from every nation under heaven”. Three thousand believed, were baptised and devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. The result was a church that grew because the Lord Himself added to their number day by day.

France needs that same Spirit-given growth today. Evangelical believers make up little more than one per cent of the population, and there is roughly one evangelical church for every 25,000 people. Yet God is at work. French media report that a new evangelical church opens about every ten days. At Easter 2026 more than 21,000 adults and teenagers were baptised in Catholic parishes, most with no religious background and many searching for meaning after suffering. The hunger for God is real.

Church planter Philip Moore and his family moved from Northern Ireland to France in 2006. Over seventeen years they helped to plant four churches in the eastern suburbs of Paris. Now they are starting again in the heart of the city, among 80,000 students.

Pray that every new believer in France will be rooted in God’s Word, joined to a faithful local church and sent out to plant more.

Pray for France’s pastors and church planters: for faithfulness to Scripture, bold preaching, unity between congregations, and new churches in every town and neighbourhood that still has no Gospel witness.

CONNECT — ACTS 29 (FRANCE)

Acts 29 is a global family of church-planting churches committed to the Gospel, sound doctrine and mission. In France, where Gospel-centred churches remain scarce, the network supports planters through assessment, training and lasting friendship.

Its French story includes Philip and Rachel Moore, who spent seventeen years in the eastern suburbs of Paris and saw four new churches established. Planters trained there have gone on to start congregations in central Paris, including Église Connexion.

In 2023 the Moores moved into the 5th arrondissement to launch Église de la Montagne among the students of the Latin Quarter. Pray for planters, their families and sending churches.

CITY SPOTLIGHT — PARIS

Paris, the capital of France, is home to about 2.1 million people, with more than 12 million in the wider Île-de-France region. It is a world centre of government, finance, fashion, art and learning, and it welcomes visitors from every continent. The city is also deeply multicultural, with large communities from North and West Africa, Asia and the Middle East. At Easter 2026 the Paris church province recorded 3,184 adult and teenage baptisms, the highest in France, a sign of real spiritual searching. Yet many neighbourhoods still have no evangelical church, and the Latin Quarter alone has some 80,000 students.
