In Ephesus Paul taught boldly in the synagogue for three months. When some hardened their hearts, he moved to the lecture hall of Tyrannus and reasoned there every day. This continued for two years, until the whole province had heard the Word of the Lord. A daily Bible discussion in a place of learning became the launch pad for a whole region.
France’s schools and universities are officially secular, and many universities restrict religious practice, including prayer, on campus. Yet a generation is asking big questions. Of the adults baptised in Catholic parishes at Easter 2026, 42 per cent were aged 18 to 25. Many young people say they bought and read a Bible before they ever entered a church, and social media has made testimonies of faith visible as never before.
Students from Africa, Asia and the Middle East also fill French campuses, and many will return home as future leaders.
Pray for Christian students, teachers and lecturers to be “Tyrannus people”: faithful, patient and bold, opening the Scriptures with their friends day after day. Pray that through France’s classrooms and campuses, all may hear the Word of the Lord.
Pray for teachers, school leaders and university staff; for wisdom in classrooms; for freedom to speak about faith; and for every student in France to have the opportunity to explore the Bible.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.” — Proverbs 9:10
The Groupes Bibliques Universitaires (GBU) are France’s evangelical Christian student movement and part of the worldwide IFES fellowship. Around one hundred groups on campuses across France gather about a thousand students each year to study the Bible together, often using a simple observation, interpretation and application method.
GBU organises Bible discussions, debate evenings and Forum Veritas events, welcomes international students and supports groups in high schools. Because universities are secular spaces, groups are open to anyone curious about what the Bible says.
Pray for student leaders, staff workers and many seekers to meet Jesus through these groups.

Did you know? France has Europe’s largest Jewish community; very few know Yeshua as Messiah.
Pray: God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, protect Jewish families in France from hatred and fear. Reveal Yeshua as their promised Messiah, and help Christians to show them faithful love and friendship. Amen.

Toulouse, the “Pink City” in the south-west, has about 500,000 inhabitants and is France’s fourth-largest city. It is a European capital of aerospace, home to Airbus and a major space research centre. Its university, founded in 1229, is one of the oldest in Europe, and in 2026 Toulouse was again ranked France’s best student city, with more than 120,000 students in its urban area. Young people from across France and the world come here to study, research and work. Yet among so many students, evangelical believers remain very few, and campus Christian groups need strengthening.

祈禱: Pray for students and researchers in Toulouse to meet Jesus, for strong campus Bible groups, and for graduates who will carry the Gospel into France and the nations.
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed?” — Romans 10:14
We declare over Toulouse and France: God’s Word will be heard in every classroom. A generation will seek wisdom, find Christ and carry His Gospel unhindered to the nations.
